This video shows the workflow for designing a meta-surface to reproduce a target intensity distribution in the far-field of the component. This design is run using the PlanOpSim software from the MetaComponent module.
The calculation uses an iterative algorithm to identify a complex near-field wavefront that can project the specified far field. The design then continues by picking and placing nano-structures to reproduce that near-field. The response of the nanostructure is calculated by an integrated full-wave solver.
The design process is divided into these sub-steps:
1) Specify the size of the meta-component and which group of nano-structures to use (Family)
2) Defining a target far field intensity to be created by the component for a specific incident angle, polarization and wavelength
3) Generating the meta-surface lay-out to reproduce the target using the selected structures.
4) Downloading and inspecting the GDS lay-out file for lithography
