Bladder polyps are small, often cauliflower-like growths that protrude from the lining of the urinary bladder where a person stores urine. In this instance, Z Urology in Boca Raton discovered the polyp during a routine cystoscopy.

Typically, polyps are groups of abnormal cells that appear along mucous membranes in the body, though they can appear almost anywhere. Polyps can form in organs and be either harmless or potentially cancerous. So it's very important to do everything you can to try and catch them as early as possible.

Polyps in the bladder may not cause symptoms, so they can be hard to diagnose. However, a person can take some healthy steps and avoid risk factors that may help prevent them from occurring in the first place.
