Have you ever wondered how to make Animated Charts using Excel? In this video we will learn how to use Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and Excel to create Map Chart gif Animations. The process is simple: First the raw date is processed, and a Map Chart is created for the first data series. Next, a VBA code is written and run to update the Map Chart with the next set of data and export it as a picture. Finally, an external tool, i.e. https://ezgif.com/maker, is used to stitch all the pictures and create a gif animation. The example I have chosen for this video is the case of US presidential election results. The goal is to create a Map Chart animation to show the party, i.e. Republican (Red), Democrat (Blue), or other (Grey), that won the elections in the different States in the last 100 years.
