How to fix engine vibration
My harmonic balancer is getting old and I can feel more and more engine vibration, so while I am replacing my cam, I’m going to go ahead and replace the harmonic balancer.

A couple ways to tell if your harmonic balancer is bad:
Engine vibration: this isn’t only caused by the balancer, but man mine was bad
Cracks in the balancer rubber
Squealing belts
I thought my 1975 Ford Bronco had a 4 bolt Harmonic Balancer, but it turns out it was a 3 bolt.
To remove the Harmonic Balancer, remove the fan from the water pump, then remove the belts from the alternator and power steering pump. Then remove the bolts retaining the crankshaft pulley to the vibration damper. Next loosen the 15/16th bolt that’s holding the harmonic balancer in place. Just loosen it, so you can still use the bolt head when using the crankshaft pulley. But you will have to go back and forth. Then using a crankshaft puller remove the harmonic balancer.

This is the same process on any early model Ford 302, for a F100 or Mustang, or anything with a 302.
