The process for updating a child's Aadhaar biometric information is as follows:
Locate a nearby Aadhaar Enrollment Centre. You can find one through the official UIDAI website.
Book an Appointment (Optional):
Although not always necessary, it might be a good idea to book an appointment to avoid long waiting times.
Carry Required Documents:
The child's Aadhaar card (if available).
Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) documents for the child (like birth certificate, school ID, etc.).
The Aadhaar of at least one parent is mandatory.
Fill the Update Form:
Obtain the Aadhaar update form and fill in the required details. If the child is below 5 years of age, biometric updates may not be needed.
Biometric Update:
For children aged 5 and above, biometrics like fingerprints and iris scan will be taken. This is done to ensure proper identification.
Verify and Submit:
Review the information provided for accuracy. If everything is correct, submit the form.
Receive Acknowledgement Slip:
After submission, you will receive an acknowledgement slip with an Update Request Number (URN).
Wait for Processing:
The request will be processed, and the updated Aadhaar card will be sent to the registered address.
