In this video, I’ll guide you step-by-step on how to build your own remote monitoring system using the ESP32 microcontroller and the AM2301 temperature and humidity sensor. This IoT project is ideal for beginners and tech enthusiasts who want to create a practical, real-world application. By following along, you’ll be able to track and monitor real-time environmental data from anywhere, whether through a web browser on your computer or directly from your mobile device.

We’ll start with the basics, covering how to wire the components. You’ll see how to connect the AM2301 sensor to the ESP32, including where to attach the data wire, ground, and voltage lines. Once the hardware is connected, we’ll move on to setting up Adafruit IO—a cloud-based platform that will allow you to visualize the sensor data. I’ll walk you through creating an Adafruit IO account, generating your unique IO key, and configuring data feeds for temperature and humidity.

Next, I’ll show you how to set up a custom dashboard on Adafruit IO. This dashboard will serve as your personal control center, where you can monitor live temperature and humidity readings from anywhere in the world. You’ll learn how to add widgets to display your data in real-time, and I’ll share tips on organizing and customizing the dashboard to fit your preferences.

Once your online platform is ready, we’ll move on to coding. We’ll use the Arduino IDE to upload the source code to your ESP32, which will allow your microcontroller to communicate with the Adafruit IO platform. The code will also handle the wireless connection to your home network, so you’ll be able to send sensor data online. You can download the full source code here: [drive.google.com/file/d/1hWh5TPn0LHhPf35PSA_LElYFlxz-V0Kz]. In the video, I’ll guide you through the process of updating your Wi-Fi credentials and configuring your Adafruit IO settings directly in the code.

By the end of this tutorial, you’ll have a fully functional remote monitoring system that provides real-time temperature and humidity data that can be accessed from any device, anytime. This project is a great introduction to IoT and cloud-based data management, providing practical experience with both hardware and software.
