Art Film: Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, TX, USA
Magical, Mystical, Enchanted. This massive granite dome, rising 325 feet above a small stream, has drawn people for thousands of years. The scenery, rock formations and legends are mesmerizing. The rock talks at night, making creaking and groaning sounds (from night-time contractions after being heated by the sound during the day). Its rural dark sky also is one of the best places for stargazing in Central Texas. Pick any place around the park to marvel at the vastness of our universe.
Enchanted Rock is revered by native tribes as a holy portal to other worlds and is haunted by spirits of those sacrificed at the rock. According to one legend, anyone who spends the night on the rock becomes invisible.
