Warm Ponds Film Preview
There was no place on earth exactly like "Warm Ponds" was … A large natural warm pool, heated by lava from underground, complete with my special mermaid swing. I would hang onto the rope where the waves would crash into the pool and gently pull me back and forth ... but sometimes it was violent - depending on the waves! And then I’d balance on a rock and dive into the sandy parts. This pool is where I spent most of my time, soaking and swimming and playing. Now this spot you see in the film is covered in molten lava and there is a brand new black sand in it’s place. While it’s sad to see it go, I still have faith in the unknown and I’m very much looking forward to exploring the updated coastline when the lava flow stops and it’s safe to trek around. Nobody knows the future for this area … but I’m extremely intrigued by the possibility of brand new hot springs and black sand beaches.
