Key Do’s and Don’t’s for Patenting Inventions
So you have come up with a great idea that’s going to set the world on fire. How do you protect your idea so you can monetize that idea? Getting a patent could be a great tool. But there are some ‘do’s and don’t’s’ that you should know before you try to get a patent.

1. An overview of the patent system and a (brief) overview of what other intellectual property protection tools are available;
2. Some ‘do’s’ that are usually necessary to get a patent; AND
3. Some ‘don’t’s’ that an inventor needs to avoid to keep from making their own invention unpatentable.
