Join me for a solo wild camping and silent hiking adventure in the Lake District, taking on 9 Wainwrights including Helvellyn, Catstye Cam, Raise and the Dodds, before spending the night wild camping high on Stybarrow Dodd.
This relaxing Lake District silent hiking film follows the complete journey through some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in England — with no talking and no distractions, just hiking, wild camping and the natural sounds of the fells.
Starting with the climb to Birkhouse Moor, I continue over Catstye Cam before reaching Helvellyn at 949m, one of the most iconic mountains in the Lake District.
From Helvellyn, the route continues north across the high fells, taking in Whiteside, Raise, Stybarrow Dodd, Watson’s Dodd, Great Dodd and finally Clough Head.
After completing the day’s Wainwrights, I return to Stybarrow Dodd for a solo summit wild camp at 843m, surrounded by incredible views across the Lake District.

My camp for the night is high on Stybarrow Dodd, giving me a peaceful mountain wild camp after a long day hiking across the Helvellyn range.
This is exactly the kind of experience I love about solo wild camping in the Lake District — carrying everything I need, spending the day walking through the mountains and finding somewhere high in the fells to spend the night.
