Franklin Park Vol. 1 ... The first in an effort to use Public Access cable television to improve communications between the Village of Franklin Park and it’s residents.
Those who have been following “Motorsports Unlimited” may recall the “Great Cable Wars” I described when I first tried to use public access cable television to make the motorsport community’s presence known on television. It was a battle that lasted several years and along the way I met a young law student named Barrett Pedersen who was on the Franklin Park Cable Commission at the time. Years later, Barrett would become an important asset in the fight to save and improve the public access cable opportunity. Eventually Barrett would become a lawyer, establish a law practice and then become Mayor of Franklin Park. Barrett was quite aware of the value of public access cable television and I urged him to consider using this medium to communicate with the residents of Franklin Park. This is the first in a series of “Franklin Park” programs. I include it in Motorsports Unlimited to educate others who may be trying to use public access cable television to raise public consciousness, understanding and appreciation of the motorsport community and it’s activities.
