How to create an Interactive Hyperlink PDF in Adobe® InDesign®
Here is an outline of the steps used in this tutorial to create a hyperlink PDF in Adobe InDesign:
1. Open the Hyperlinks panel, top menu: Window, Interactive, Hyperlinks
2. Select the type you want to hyperlink with the Type tool (T)
3. Select “New Hyperlink…” from the Hyperlinks panel, or “New Hyperlink From URL”
4. Create a new character style if you want to change the styling of your hyperlink (Character Styles panel, select “New Character Style…”)
5. Export your document as a PDF, top menu: File, Adobe PDF Presets, select your quality setting and make sure the Hyperlinks checkbox is selected
Best practice tip: change the default “Hyperlink” character style for global style changes.
