PBS Retro Commercial Breaks (October 4, 2024)
With Cartoon Network deciding to use yesterday’s Scoobtober hours to air spooky-themed movies in the place of the Scooby-Doo incarnations they’ve been airing for the past four days, I decided to shake things up in a pretty huge way. But first, an introduction to the channel being covered in this video for the many who need one.
Launched on April 23, 2024, PBS Retro is a FAST channel on Roku and Amazon Freevee featuring old school programming from PBS Kids, all of whom being shows that haven’t aired nationally on the channel or regular PBS in ages.
For my very first time recording the channel, I decided to tape a half-hour of a showcase of the power of reading hosted by a future Planeteer, and 90 minutes of everyone’s favorite Really Useful Engine. That’s right: within this video are ad breaks taken from airings of Reading Rainbow and Thomas & Friends! Enjoy.
