We went to El Corte Inglés looking for their wide variety of products and brands, hoping to find an induction hob with physical buttons or similar features. These days, most supposedly modernized brands no longer include them, which is incredibly unhelpful for a blind person; on the contrary, it limits them in many ways.

We walked through the appliance section, seeing how the lack of tactile references complicates something as simple as cooking. We looked at each one and crossed off options: no Miele, no Bosch, no Teka, no Candy, no Siemens, no Samsung, no AEG, no Haier, no Beko... After speaking with a sales assistant and confirming the scarcity of accessible alternatives, an inevitable question arises: after seeing this, should brands consider whether their technology aims to include or exclude blind people?

Before signing off, we would like to sincerely thank El Corte Inglés and all its staff for their immense kindness, patience, and dedication throughout our visit. Details like these make all the difference.

Press play to discover how the search went and don't miss the final reflection.
