How Hope and Determination May Combat Cancer and Other Uncertainties. The speaker is Morris Abram. He was diagnosed with incurable leukemia cancer and they told him to get his effects in order because he was sure to die within a month or so. He didn't and he told me this story directly to the video. He beat death time and time again with positive attitude and chemotherapy. When doing this video, I asked him to tell his story directly to “the people” and left the room with the camera running. I found time and again that people tell powerful stories when speaking directly to a camera with the awareness that the recording will be passed to others who care.
I have seen in my lifetime that Love Heals. Here is some more proof. I was doing a film with the great surgeon/author Dr. Bernie Siegel. In order to prove his theory, he didn't have a lot of statistics but he did have a surprising number of patients who were told that they were going to die and they should get their affairs in order. One of them was Morris and that is how I got to film him and other of Dr. Siegel's patients. Morris used positive attitude to fight his disease (Dr. Siegel wrote the books Love, Medicine and Miracles and Fight For Your Life). I got the chance to interview patients who told to tell their stories so that others who might be in similar dire situations with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses, could fight for their lives. Patients who were feeling no hope. Who were distraught. Angry. But fight is what Dr. Siegel's Patients did the results that I videotaped were surprisingly positive. I post this video now with the hope that it will help those in a similar situations and their families to use love and positive attitude and fight as practices for healing.
