Does Shadow and Bone Have a Race Problem?
Listen I LOVED Shadow and Bone it might be my favorite book to screen adaptation yet. But I couldn't just IGNORE this ya know? Besides I firmly think that even if you love something, you should still keep your third eye wide open. And I feel like Jessie Mei Li deserves better than to have her character treated that way! As well as Kit Young and Amita Suman and Sujaya Dasgupta. Anyway. Now that we've got all that out of the way. Let me know what you thought of the show, and if you noticed this problem too! I picked up on it back during Bridgerton, and thought that since it seemed to carry over into Shadow and Bone, it might be the time to make a video essay on it.
