Serverless Side-by-Side Extensions with Azure Durable Functions - When stateful meets stateless
Extending SAP's core systems is a hot topic since years. SAP's close collaboration with Microsoft brings new options to that table. Within this talk, I will present the possibilities that arise when using Azure Functions for the development of a serverless extensions of an SAP system. As serverless per definition is stateless I will address the shortcomings of a pure Functions as a Service (FaaS) approach and demo how to save the day by bringing state into serverless via Azure Durable Functions.
