Kerensky. Rise and Fall
The man who rose to power in Russia as a result of the February Revolution of 1917.
A lawyer by training, renowned for his oratorical skills, he became almost a symbol of the revolution.
But as the saying goes, "talk is easier said than done." Upon gaining real power, Kerensky immediately began to lose his aura as the "savior of Russia."
After becoming Chairman of the Provisional Government, Kerensky further deteriorated discipline in the army. The Russian army collapsed, reprisals against officers by soldiers increased, his allies began to turn against him, and his fiery speeches were no longer effective, leading to him being called the "persuader-in-chief."
Ultimately, Kerensky was overthrown by the October Revolution after just eight months. This forced him to wander the country and then flee abroad. He tried to find allies and return to politics, but few, even among his own, wanted to deal with him, considering him responsible for the fall of the Empire.
Essentially, Kerensky was an ordinary populist who could talk the talk but didn't know what to do.
Kerensky died in the United States in 1970, never having returned to Russia.
