The PlatformNano is a MIDI controller that offers tactile control of most digital audio workstations, several digital mixers and some digital recorders, using a single motorized fader.
The PlatformNano comes straight from the factory with overlays for several of the most popular DAWs plus one for MIDI learn mode so you can do your own custom midi mapping.
Today we're going to show you how to setup the PlatformNano with four of the most popular DAWs.
We may not cover your DAW today, but most programs are setup in a similar fashion.
Between this video and the quickstart guide that was included with your PlatformNano, you should have no problem getting up and running quickly no matter which DAW you prefer.”
For our first setup, we will be using Pro Tools .
The first thing we want to do is power on our Platform Nano Use the double left and double right arrows to go to HUI mode. Hit DAW mode to finalize our selection.
Next you want to open up our DAW.
Click the setup Tab. Go To Peripherals.
In the MIDI Controllers Tab, the type should be HUI.
We want receive and send information to the Platform Nano. Hit ok..... Now we are connected.
Next ,we are going to setup Cubase with the Platform Nano. The first thing we want to do is power on our Platform Nano.
Use the double left and double right arrows to toggle through the
DAW modes. We are looking for MCP.
Select DAW mode to finalize the selection.
We are going to go into Cubase.
Go to the Studio Tab. Select studio setup.
click the plus button add a device. We are looking for Mackie
Control. We want to select the Platform Nano for the MIDI input and output. Click Apply and we are now connected.
Next we are going to setup Reaper with the Platform Nano. The first thing we want to do is power on our Platform Nano.
Use the double left and double right arrows to toggle through the DAW modes. We are looking for MCP.
Select DAW mode to finalize the selection.
Now we are going to go into Reaper.
Select the Reaper tab and select preferences.
We are going to add a device. In the control surface mode we are looking for Mackie Control Universal.
The MIDI input and output should be the Platform Nano. select Ok.
Now we are connected .
For our last setup, we will be using Logic Pro X with the Platform Nano. Power on our Platform Nano.
Use the double left and double right arrows to toggle through the DAW modes. We are looking for Logic Pro Mode.
Select DAW mode to finalize the selection.
Our next step is to turn on Logic Pro on the computer .
Now that Logic Pro is up, lets go to the Logic Pro X tab. Select Control surface , then select setup.
In the control surface setup, select new. Install.
We are looking for Mackie Control , Mackie Design, Logic Control.
Add. close this screen.
We want to choose the Platform Nano for the MIDI Output and Input ports.
We can exit out of this screen now. Im going to hit play on my transport and now you will see that we are connected now because
my playback head is moving .
