This is the classic story of Jack's adventures with a large beanstalk and an angry giant. Jack and his mother, desperate for money, sell their skinny cow for a few mysterious beans. When a bean grows into a beanstalk taller than the sky, the curious boy climbs to the top. He encounters an angry giant, along with the giant's innocent, female, music-playing harp and his golden egg-laying hen. Jack escapes, taking with him the giant's bag of gold, the harp and the hen.
