"The great wizard Rubik spent his life studying the art of spatial magic. His research into such matters bore much fruit and gifted the arcane colleges with new and exciting spatial spells, spells that could distort all of reality. Knowing how his work could be used for evil he wouldn't share his discovery with the world, and for decades no one knew the secrets behind his magnificent power; However as Rubik grew in age he thought it would be a waste to leave the mortal plane and take his gifts with him. To ensure that he would leave his great secrets in the hands of someone worthy, Rubik designed a test. He summoned all his apprentices and told them, "Whomever can solve the puzzle of my Rubik's Chest will gain access to all my knowledge". Having done this the great wizard Rubik could finally pass on, knowing his secrets would be in good hands."
This is a 3D model of a Rubik's cube fashioned into a chest. It was made for the August 2021 Treasure Chest Challenge. The idea of which is to make a creative and unique chest design. I came up with the concept and then created the story about the chest, based off the actual story behind the creation of the Rubik’s Cube.
