Today I want to tell you how my husband got a job in Germany without knowing German.
So, let's take it step by step. Well, let's clarify that you can find a job in Germany, but what kind of job can it be. From what I read in the ads - it can be a kitchen assistant, work in a nursing home, cleaning houses and offices, and work in various factories, on a conveyor.
Of course, we were asked at Jobcenter what diplomas and work experience we had, but in fact, finding a job without a good knowledge of the language in your specialty is close to zero.
So, I constantly, almost every day, look through websites with job vacancies. And then on one of these websites a job offer appeared. This company is more of a logistics company, it delivers goods to consumers. Previously, when we first came to this company, they hired workers exclusively with knowledge of German or English. But now the company's policy has changed, and they started recruiting employees without knowledge of these languages.
So, my husband filled out a questionnaire on their website. After some time, I don't remember exactly how long, they sent him the date for the interview. But it wasn't fast, maybe even a month and a half or two passed.
My husband asked his friend to be present at this interview to understand what and how. After the interview, the company employees sent tests, but this time in Russian. The questions in the test were different, but in general the survey was designed to understand how a person relates to certain moments in life.
After filling out the questionnaire, some more time passed and a letter arrived with an offer to sign a contract, but first to go through communication and get to know the work online.
So, at 8 am there was an online meeting, and at 3:30 pm - signing of the contract on site.
At the meeting, they told in German and English about the work itself. It lasted about an hour. Then they sent a contract for independent study. And then on the same day you could sign the contract if everything was fine and suitable.
Well, and you could go to work after 18 days.
Friends, I think everyone is interested in what the salary can be in Germany, without knowing the language. Well, I will tell you that it is minimal, and is about 13 euros per hour gross in Germany. After deducting all taxes, you will have 10-something euros left on hand.
And you know, to say that the salary is small (I will clarify for Germany) and only foreigners work in the factories - no. Many Germans work there too. As there was a joke in one movie, The salary is small, but good. In any case, you have to start somewhere.
If you work well and improve your language skills, then there are prospects for growth, but if you sit at home on benefits, and wait for some high-paying job to appear right away.
No, well, maybe, if you are a conservatory professor, then perhaps you will have a high salary right away, I once saw a video, a person from Ukraine, recently a music teacher in Germany, was invited to private lessons - 50 euros per hour.
Well, for people who had professions, like my husband, a lawyer, worked as a lawyer, or an accountant, or a teacher, a doctor, etc., first you need to learn the language, then confirm your diploma, and only then can you apply for a high salary.
