This DIY MDF Sharpening Wheel took about 45 min to make and put a razor sharp edge on my kitchen knives in no time.
It should be said that this would only be good for maintaining and honing an edge. This will not sharpen dull knives. At least not very fast.
I used Veritas® Honing Compound which is 0.5 microns.
The angle that I held both knives was not ideal due to the tripod being in the way. Both knives had to be touched up off camera.
I sharpen a Henckel 4 star chef's knife and a Benchmade 940-02. The Henckel blade angle is somewhere around 15 while the Benchmade is closer to 21-25 ( not ideal in my opinion for slicing ).
