Hello, welcome to my video on how to install Linux Lubuntu 19.04
Lubuntu is a lightweight version of Linux and older machines can run it, instance 2012 or newer. It can run 32 bit or 64 bit if the processor can run in 64 bit. It derives from Ubuntu. Lubuntu is a user friendly OS because of the GUI.
I am installing Lubuntu onto my virtual machine through Virtual Box on a Windows 10 as a Host. The guest system contains dual cores running at 3 Ghz with 4 gigabyte of RAM and 20 gigabyte of SSD space. The host computer itself was made in 2016 and it contains a processor that integrates virtualization.
You can create a bootable copy of Lubuntu onto a blank DVD and boot it up from the burned disc. You could create a bootable copy of Lubuntu onto a flash drive and boot it up from the flash drive. You could use Virtual Box to run a virtual machine that will take the downloaded ISO/image as a virtual bootable disc for the machine to run.
You can download your own image of Lubuntu from Lubuntu.net. The video has been editted to shorten up the time of installing and loading because it takes such a long time.
Assuming that we have the installation media setup for the computer to install from and it is booted up from the bootable copy of Lubuntu. We then select
English because we want to be able to understand the installation program's language. Let's start Lubuntu by hitting enter which is already selected.
Now once it has loaded the desktop will show up and we will see a disc icon with "Install Lubuntu 19.04" selected, double left click on it to open the installation window.
Step 1 Welcome. American English is what we want for the program's language to be, then hit next.
Step 2 Location. I selected America for my Region and my zone is Los Angeles because I live within that timezone, then hit next.
Step 3 Keyboard. I selected English, US for our keyboards assuming your keyboard is from the USA and the second column selected as default, then hit next.
Step 4 Partitions. I selected the proper storage device to install on, and then select Erase disk, then hit next.
Step 5 Users. I fill out the name and the password, make sure the
password is filled out twice, then hit next.
Step 6 Summary. I check if everything is in the correct setting, my screen resolution is small so I had to resize the window to see the bottom buttons, then I hit the Install button.
Step 7 Install. At the prompt window press "Install Now". This process can take up to an hour for the program to install the operating system.
Thank you for watching the video.
