Mac Pro 2009 5,1 CPU upgrade dual Xeon 5690s issues, fixes, benchmarks!
Join me as I do my final CPU upgrade on my 2009 Mac Pro 5,1 Xeon 5890s running Opencore 0.7.8 and Big Sur 11.6.4, Montery and Windows 10. Keep in mind if you have a 2009 Mac Pro that is still a 4,1 you have to update the firmware to make it a 5,1 before you can do this upgrade. This install did not go smoothly, as it turned out I was given a bad CPU and had get a new one to finish the job but all is running smoothly with 11.6.4 and Martin Lo's Opencore package 0.7.8.
