Build a Chord Pattern in FL Studio
💫 Start with a Trace Preset of iconic chord changes
🎹 Break out chord tones into patterns–by ear, feel, and intuition
Control ChordAXE with patterns using the piano roll. Use lower MIDI notes to control chord changes, then use upper notes to break those chords up rhythmically. Clone patterns and vary them for different expressions of a repeated chord pattern.
SETUP
• Add a Patcher to the channel rack to make ChordAXE + Flex work as a single instrument
• Drag ChordAXE and Flex into the Patcher
• Connect MIDI in from FL Studio to ChordAXE, then from ChordAXE to Flex
• Connect Audio out from Flex to FL Studio (2 MIDI and 1 Audio connection only, no others!)
• Use the piano roll to control chord changes, and express them with rhythmic patterns
