How to Create Halo/Glowing Effect in Camtasia - Video Editing Tutorial - Camtasia Guide

A step by step tutorial showing you how to create a “halo/glowing” effect in Camtasia using Drop Shadow in Camtasia. This question has been asked by you :D (Thank you!) In this tutorial, I will be demonstrating with a square talking head video as making a circular talking head video requires additional rendering in my current version of Camtasia. I believe that the latest version Camtasia 2020 allows you to easily create a circular talking head video. How exciting?! I don’t have it, so I can’t show it to you, sorry. Steps:
Select your talking head video track.
Click on “Visual Effects”
Drag and drop “Drop Shadow” onto your talking head video track
Adjust your “Drop Shadow” settings in the Properties panel
My settings in the previous video:
Drop Shadow Settings
Angle - Center
Degree - 248.2
Color - White
Offset - 0
Opacity - 100%
Blur - 50
When you are editing, the effect might not be as clear as the final result if you have a light background. To have a better view, you can temporarily disable your screen-recording track to have a black background. You can disable it by clicking the eye icon of your screen-recording track.
You can play with the settings to get your desired effect. It is quite fun! You can change the glow colors and whatnot. Write down your setting once you have achieved your desire effect so you can refer to it later on.
