I LOVE NieR! Both Replicant and Automata are contenders for my favorite soundtrack of all time (competing against Final Fantasy VII). Keiichi Okabe's compositions are always so beautiful and emotional.
Shadowlord is a personal favorite of mine. The song in all it's ethereal gothicness is both somber and hopeless, yet hopeful. The mix of major chords in the song give it an unusual brightness that separates it from other similar tracks. I've been wanting to do this one for awhile and I'm very thankful for the YouTube algorithm recommending me only the vocals as my mock-up without the original vocals sounded very lacking.
This one was difficult to deviate from the original due to me trying to keep the tenderness of the track from the vocals. I think I did okay with that?? I also took a lot of inspiration from the remaster version. I hope you all enjoy this one!
