The Modern Logistician: Demonstrating Innovation in Action 🚀
One of the most anticipated parts of our I.T.S. (Innovation Through Simplicity) event was the practical demonstrations within the warehouse. We initiated the picking process using @honeywell Industrial Automation, Voice Technology on an Android-based terminal. This solution works both, natively within a Warehouse Management System and independently.
We simulated the latter scenario, where our logistician performed a picking activity based on 1-2 paper orders. This approach was chosen partly to respect our host's confidentiality and to demonstrate how seamlessly one can transition from paper-based to voice-assisted picking. This transition is made possible through middleware developed by the Digital Solutions Team at @totaltechnologiesro .
We simulated a continuous workflow: once the pick was complete, our team programmed the entire order to be handled by the transpallet from @EPEquipment #XP15. The process was conducted in Romanian, showcasing Honeywell's support for multiple languages—beneficial for warehouses with workers of different nationalities.
