Pediatrician-neonatologist Irina Valeryevna Antonyuk (Healthy Family Clinic, Tyumen) explains how to teach a baby to brush their teeth. Starting at 3 months, you can introduce your baby to this new sensation by gently massaging their gums with your finger or a silicone finger cot (without a brush) for 10-15-30 seconds twice a day. It's important to reinforce positive emotions in your baby – smile, sing nursery rhymes and nursery rhymes about brushing teeth, and praise your little one!
And when the first tooth appears, feel free to buy a finger cot with bristles and age-appropriate toothpaste (from 0 to 3 years old). Continue brushing this "pride of the family" for about 30 seconds twice a day, not forgetting the gums, as your baby still needs to get used to the new sensations. Be careful not to press too hard on the gums, as other teeth may be erupting there. As teeth grow, brushing time will increase to 1-1.5 minutes. Continue to form the habit - brush at the same time every day.
Thank you, parents and baby, for your participation ❤️❤️❤️
