Julia Roberts Almost Didn’t Become an Actress
It's hard to imagine that we could have missed Julia Roberts as an actress, all because she wanted to be a veterinarian. Julia always loved animals, and she dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. After high school, she pursued her dream and planned to study veterinary medicine. Julia enrolled at the University of Georgia but never completed her studies. As the actress later admitted, it wasn't about the money; she just realized during her studies that she wanted to pursue acting instead. Dropping out, she headed to New York, where her brother Eric helped her by taking her to the set of the movie Blood Red. In the film, Julia only had a minor role, and her first major success came with the movie Mystic Pizza in 1988.
