The Façade as a Factor in City Formation | Elizaveta Likhacheva | Lecture
Together with the lecturer, we will trace the historical development of the concept of the façade.
How have façades changed over the centuries? What styles and architectural techniques have emerged, disappeared, and returned? What methods did architects employ to create a distinctive appearance for buildings during industrial construction? What significance have building façades acquired today, in the 21st century?
As a reminder, an international open competition for the development of architectural solutions for residential renovation projects began on November 24. Based on the competition's results, the city will receive original designs that will help its districts acquire their own unique identity.
