Port security is a simple way to improve your network security by controlling which devices are able to connect to your network switches based on the MAC address of allowed hosts. In this video I provide an overview of the technology, the various configuration options (multiple MAC's, restrict vs shutdown violation modes, learning addresses via static vs. sticky configurations), and how to troubleshoot your environment once you have port security events.
This information is relevant for anyone that is learning or implementing Cisco security configurations (CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Security, CISSP, etc.) or even those on the offensive testing side (OSCP).

Switch(config-if)# switchport port-security
Switch(config-if)# switchport port-security maximum 2 (1 is default)
Switch(config-if)# switchport port-security mac-address aaaa.aaaa.aaaa(Static secure MAC)
Switch(config-if)# switchport port-security mac-address sticky
Switch(config-if)# switchport port-security violation restrict (shutdown is default)
