Hi guys, I just want to share my experience in troubleshooting this 3D printer.
Weeks ago the quality of my prints using the X1 decreased significantly. I've tried to apply the "fix" suggested by the community (checking the ribbon cables, checking the couplers/motors (this is where i found the zipties lol), checking the leadscrews etc etc. but it didn't fixed anything. I can't even get a good print out of "vase mode". :(
Fast forward to the video, the main culprit was a faulty stepper motor driver on the Z axis which causes the uneven/unnecessary jerking movements on the Z axis. The "quick fix" I applied was changing the two stepper motor drivers with an A4988 (because this is what I have atm, you can replace it with any stepper motor driver you want). You can actually use only one stepper motor driver for the Z axis just make sure you wire both motors in Parallel and increase the Vref.
