Variable scope and functions
Scope means the parts of a program where a variable can be used. Parameters of a function and any variables assigned a value for the first time within a function definition are known as local variables. Local variables are usable only within the function they were defined in. Variables created outside of any function definition are known as global variables and can be used anywhere in a program.
