about the band: Brothers of Metal ist eine 2012 gegründete schwedische Power-Metal-Band aus Smedjebacken und Falun. Thematisch behandelt das Oktett vor allem die Nordische Mythologie.
2012 als reines Spaßprojekt gegründet, um dem schwächelnden True Metal, neues Leben einzuhauchen“, spielten Brothers of Metal bereits 2015 ihr Debütalbum ein, das 2017 im Eigenvertrieb erschien. Unter AFM Records folgte 2018 eine Neuauflage. Sowohl der gewählte Bandname, als auch Auftreten und Musikvideos sind dabei bewusst selbstironisch und übertrieben klischeehaft gehalten, was sowohl Lob, als auch Kritik[ hervorrief.
Im Januar 2020 veröffentlichte die Gruppe ihr zweites Album Emblas Saga, das, obwohl die Band bis dato kaum bekannt war, sie in Deutschland auf Platz 9 der Charts einsteigen ließ. Kritiker lobten es als „kaum möglich gehaltene Steigerung“, sowie, dass es, sehr gut möglich“, sei, dass es, im Genre True Metal dieses Jahr nix Besseres mehr geben wird“ Hervorgehoben wird dabei einerseits der, glockenklare und dennoch oft überaus kraftvolle“, Gesang Ylva Erikssons, im Kontrast zum gedoppelten männlichen Gesang, mit parallel verlaufenden, aber leicht voneinander abweichenden Melodiebögen“, die für Detailtiefe beim Gesang sorgten. Vergleichbare Bands wie Sabaton, Powerwolf oder Gloryhammer erschienen im Vergleich, eindimensional“
