Between June 29th and July 4th, 109 trainees – 96 first-year students of the Training and Graduation Course (CFG) and 13 lieutenant-students of the Training Course (C Form) – participated in the Basic Military Training Camp, held at the Colonel Ururahy Training Area, at the Parachute Infantry Brigade. The activity was part of the instruction program of the Military Engineering Institute (IME) and aimed to develop essential competencies for the training of future military engineering officers of the Brazilian Army.

The trainees experienced an intense routine of practical instruction in a field environment, putting fundamental military knowledge into practice and developing attributes such as leadership, physical endurance, discipline, initiative, esprit de corps, and the ability to make decisions under pressure.

The program included activities such as daytime and nighttime navigation with compass and GPS, terrain progression, camouflage techniques, shelter construction, water and food procurement, fire and traps, obstacle crossing, hygiene and first aid in the field, as well as survival instructions and individual combatant techniques. The exercise also included administrative marches, camp setup and dismantling, patrolling, and other activities inherent to military life in the field.

More than improving technical knowledge, the exercise provided participants with an immersive experience in the characteristic conditions of military operations, demanding adaptation, cooperation, and resilience in the face of challenges encountered in the field.

The activity was conducted by the IME Student Body, with the support of military personnel from different sectors of the Institution, ensuring the execution of the instructions with a high standard of safety and efficiency.
