Are Some Audiophiles Too Price Sensitive?
In this video, I ponder if some audiophiles are too price sensitive compared to other hobbies such as exotic cars or watches. I happen to be a car enthusiast and love watching reviews from my favorite YT channel @ThrottleHouse and noticed their audience enjoys seeing performance cars reviewed, regardless of price. The comments are far less price sensitive than what we typically see any time high-end, high-dollar performance audio gear is reviewed. I wonder why this is the case and completely understand that we all have budgets we have to work within. Although I will never be able to afford an exotic car like a Ferrari or Bugatti, I still love learning about the cars and seeing them in action with performance testing on the track. This doesn't always translate to our hobby. Instead, often is the case when we review the best gear, commenters immediately reject the product to offer much less expensive, allegedly "as good or better" product alternatives. Why is that?
