Your Ignorance Makes the Real I

#LamaZopaRinpoche explains how ignorance, the root of samsara and all suffering, is created. The mind focuses on the aggregates and labels "I," merely imputing it. In reality, the "I" and all phenomena exist in mere name, but due to ignorance and imprints, they appear inherently existent, like a mirage or a dream. After the mere imputation of "I," it should appear as merely labeled, but instead, it appears as truly existent. This hallucination is caused by our ignorance, not by an external force. Recognizing this hallucination in all aspects of life, such as during daily activities or while shopping, and practicing mindfulness of emptiness brings peace and helps eliminate ignorance, the root of samsara.
