New LEGO GBC Module — Up and Up
A new LEGO GBC module created by yours truly. I am terrible at coming up with names, so I decided to call it "Up and Up." This module has a ball distributor that feeds one ball at a time into four liftarms that fall just in time for it to pick up a ball, elevating it to the next level. For this module, I created a tutorial with easy to follow instructions, found below.
The major challenge when building this machine was trying to get the arms to rise and fall at just the right times, dropping off and picking the balls in one shot. They would constantly roll down the ramp and fall off before the arms could fall to catch them. This crisis was averted by using a train speed regulator instead of a battery box, as battery voltages change under load and decline as they drain. With that being said, if you decide to build this, use a train speed regulator, turned all the way to the right. If you do use a battery box, the motor will slow down over time, decreasing its accuracy.
