HOW TO START READING THAI:
There are 44 letters in Thai language, and they are categorised into 3 classes;
[1] Middle class consonants - อักษรกลาง /àk –sŏrn glaang/ (9 letters)
[2] High class consonants - อักษรสูง /àk –sŏrn sŭung/ (11 letters)
[3] Low class consonants - อักษรต่ำ /àk –sŏrn dtàm/ (24 letters)
There are 24 letters in the Low Class Consonants and they are divided into two groups.
Group 1: อักษรต่ำเดี่ยว Low Class Consonants (Unpaired) - 10 letters
Group 2: อักษรต่ำคู่ Low Class Consonants (Paired) - 14 letters
