Photoshop CC Tutorial english - multicolored bright portrait - how to make a portrait with a colorful neon effect, starting from the pencil effect and making the lines shine through other processes.
this image was with a monochromatic background and I did not need to remove it, so, if you wanna remove the background in your picture, you can cover it with the brush tool and the white color after the layer merging step (at 1:34) or with the black color if you are in the next step (after you did "invert" at 1:54).
Alternatively, if you wanna remove the background before of the editing of the photo, you can use the quick selection tool like you can see in this video
