Steve Jobs Was Right About Microsoft But Nobody Listened…
In February 2026 The Verge published a report that should have been impossible. Microsoft’s own engineers — the people who actually build Windows, Office, Teams, and Edge — had been quietly told to stop using Copilot, the company’s flagship AI product, and use Claude instead, which is made by Anthropic, a direct competitor. Even Microsoft’s non-technical staff were told to use Claude. The company that has spent the last three years selling Copilot as the future of work was openly admitting their own people didn’t trust the product. Yet this wasn’t a surprise to anyone who knew where to look, because in 1995 Steve Jobs sat down for a PBS documentary called Triumph of the Nerds and on camera predicted exactly this.
