How to split a column in Excel (Text to Columns)
How to convert a column of text into multiple columns, or split the column into multiple columns. First, select the column range you would like to convert or split. Then, in the Data tab, click “Text to Columns.” In the box that appears, select “Delimited,” which will allow you to split the column based on an indicator like a comma, dash, or space. Click Next, choose your delimiter, and click Finish.
Best uses include: Dividing an address by street, city, state, and zip code, separating first and last names.
