I have found this makes life easier for testing as you can prove emails go out of the site your working on, or if you have any other platform for it , not needing to pay for a specific email accou nt to send. the only catch is the email has to go to a gmail email address.
The key to make this work is to make a rule in the recieving email account to accept the mail or it will go to spam or be blocked all together, so you will seem to not recieve. this can take a few days to filter through gmail system and not necessarily there and then so be patient if you make rules.
