I've tested these gems thoroughly, and trust me, they're top-notch – sure to amp up your enjoyment and realism in the sim. So, settle in and get ready for a quick tour of these game-changing mods. They're all winners in my book, so there's no ranking here. Let's jump right in!
First up, and this should come as no surprise, is the TBM 850 from black square. Featured in many of my recent streams, myself and others within the community have accrued hundreds of hours flying this wonderful aircraft. And even a few hilarious accidents. By the way, don't ask Mike about the mountains near Aspen. I think it's still a sore spot for him…
Alright, brace yourselves for the next game-changing gadget in our virtual hangar: the Aircraft Manager from SonicViz. This tool is so slick and handy, it's a wonder Asobo didn't think of it first. It's like the Swiss Army knife for your digital aircraft fleet – only cooler!
Moving on to Number 3. Get ready to take your virtual flying to new heights with Sky Dolly, the nifty stand-alone app that turns Microsoft Flight Simulator into your personal movie studio. It's like having a GoPro for your virtual plane, only way cooler!
Have you been looking for an amazing airport to add to your bush flying trips? Really enjoy challenging approaches nestled in mountainous valleys surrounded by every tree imaginable to crash into? Need a place to camp out and go for a swim while maybe getting a little fishing in before bed? Well you need to check out the Univserity of Idaho's Taylor Ranch Landing in Moscow, Idaho. It's a short 2300ft curved grass strip buried in between towering mountains at an elevation of 3,835ft with trees on both sides about 100ft apart. There's no local METAR data available so you'll want to use Lemhi County Airport (KSMN) for barometer settings
