ICP Chain Fusion Educate: A Technical Dive into Chain Fusion
On Thursday, 30th May 2024, we were delighted to host "A Technical Dive into Chain Fusion", the second event in the ICP Chain Fusion Educate Series Powered by Encode Club! The event was held by Dieter Sommer from the DFINITY Foundation!
This workshop focused on technical aspects of ICP's newest tech: Chain Fusion, which allows you to leverage properties of multiple "fused" chains in a single dApp. Specifically, the workshop covered reading from and writing to other chains of interest, as well as signing transactions on those chains. To do this, the speaker shows, a new Chain-key ECDSA signing is used. Another topic covered are HTTPS outcalls, a key building block used in canisters/smart contracts. Finally, integrating ICP with Bitcoin and EVM chains is covered, as is users' ability to use their own RPC providers and API keys. ckETH and ckERC20 tokens are introduced.
