I woke up today in a bit of a funk today. I'm not really all too sure why, but I have some theories. The biggest being that I don't have a sense of urgency with my travel photography here in Buenos Aires. I have a full 3 weeks, so I don't feel the stress to go out and shoot either with my Sony a6300 or my other gear.
And, with my Canon 6D in the shop, I've kind of been making the excuse why I'm not shooting. But, I can't let gear be an excuse.
So, this afternoon I went out on a bit of a travel photography project testing out my Sony a6300. Generally, I only use my Sony a6300 for vlogging. But, one of the big reasons I bought it was because I thought it would make a capable backup camera if I needed to shoot stills with it if something happened to my other camera.
Luckily, until now, I haven't had to use my Sony a6300 for travel photography. So, even though I've had the camera for about 6 months, this is the first time I'm shooting pictures with it aside from a could quick street images.
To test out and review the Sony a6300, I headed down to Plaza de Mayo here in Buenos Aires. It was the perfect test for the camera. The light was harsh, and there were lots of obstacles to the camera's performance. And, aside from a couple minor issues, I thought it performed really well. Especially the dynamic range was just incredible.
So, my this my in the field review of the Sony a6300 from the perspective of a travel photographer. Tomorrow, there will be another vlog from here in Buenos Aires.
