Just as the pottery shaping technique draws inspiration from ancient ceramic methods, the collection showcases the beauty of form in clothing with silhouettes shaped by the rotating lines produced through the shaping and refining process. “Dream in Bloom" is a tribute to flowers and butterflies. The designer has read numerous classical Chinese stories drawing inspiration from twelve characteristics: purity, courage charm, resilience, endurance, passion, freedom, heroism, independence, clarity, responsibility, and authenticity. Using beloved flowers and butterflies as mediums, he constructs dreamlike story images in his mind. These images, reflecting the desire to transform from a cocoon into a butterfly, from a bud into a blooming flower. One of the most popular models in recent memory, Coco Rocha closed the show.
Chen founded the Cheney Chan brand in 2012, and the most representative design is the silhouette "Feng Ya Qi (an elegant piece)" that combines contemporary architectural structures with classical Chinese elements to showcase the graceful curves of women. While focusing on traditional craftsmanship, the brand also integrates new contemporary art forms to create a unique brand core. In 2023, CHENEY CHAN’s new high fashion show has gradually begun, enabling traditional crafts such as the traditional bead embroidery, Hangzhou embroidery, Royal court embroidery, artificial flower making and other crafts to be presented on the works, so that each piece of work can transcend the time limit and become an eternal classic. Cheney Chan has dressed celebrities as Anya Taylor-Joy, Kat Graham and Anna Dello Russo.
