One of the fun little setups we'll do is creating Lightning textures using volumes in Houdini. We can then place these textures and project them in 3D in Nuke, and choose exactly when and where the lightning strikes will be.
To speed things up we'll also build a procedural system in Nuke so that we can control all lightning strikes with just 2 keyframes.
And finally we do some light wraps, glows and other FX to integrate it with the character.
